Yet you have to choose wisely, as the atmosphere is the most important thing!

How exactly does a real “party master” work? 🎧 What does the quote contain, and how can you compare service providers? How much does an unforgettable evening cost? We now provide honest, heartfelt answers to these questions – and many more – to help you get closer to finding the perfect wedding DJ! What’s hiding behind the DJ booth? 🤫 (And why is this important to you?)

Take a peek behind the DJ booth! 🕵️‍♀️ You might think it doesn’t matter what equipment the DJ uses to get the party going, as long as it sounds good. But, my friend, the “tools” matter here too! A professional DJ needs professional equipment, otherwise the party will just “sound okay” instead of rocking! Moreover, the final quote is also determined by how deep the DJ reached into their pocket for quality gear. 💸

For example, I don’t skimp on quality, because the possibility of technical “blunders” approaches zero! A beginner DJ set is available for 100 thousand forints, but the professional league, which guarantees a party, can be over 2 million. Just think about it: a good DJ booth is not a luxury, but the key to a reliable, non-stop dance floor! ✨

Let’s see what I have to make your party truly memorable:

  • PIONEER XDJ-XZ: This brand name is the holy grail of professional DJs; even laypeople have heard of its reliability! If this is in your hands, nothing can go wrong; quality sound and a rocking night are guaranteed. 🎶
  • MACBOOK PRO: No “brand war,” it just works. The music plays stably, and the sound for the civil ceremony is crystal clear. A premium laptop is the heart of the DJ booth! 💻
  • IPAD: This little wonder machine is the brain of the lighting system! I control it with a wireless DMX system, so I can vary the lights even while standing in the middle of the dance floor, ensuring photographers and videographers capture the coolest moments. Imagine: colors dancing to the music, just like you! 🌈

 

When does the party master arrive, and how long does the party rock? ⏰

Imagine, I’m at the venue well before the party, I don’t just drop in before the first beat! 🤫 When you request a quote online, I’ll ask you about the expected start time, which usually indicates the guest reception. If the civil ceremony is also at the dinner venue, and you entrust me with the sound system, I’ll arrive even earlier. One thing is certain: I need to be there at least 2 hours before guest reception to set everything up! So, if guest reception starts at 4:00 PM, I’ll be at the venue between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM. Precisely, accurately! ✅

The job of a wedding DJ is not an “8-10-12 hour package” like with a photographer, where you can measure how much they click or video. With us, it’s a bit different! That’s why I never provide an hourly rate; instead, I treat the service comprehensively. Separate items include sound for the civil ceremony, soft music for the guest reception, and the nonstop wedding DJ service itself. 🎶

The party really gets going for us when you do! Generally, I define the basic availability as 6 hours from the first dance event (this is the opening dance, typically around 9:00 PM). This means that there’s definitely no overtime charge until 03:00 AM! 🎉 Most weddings are over by then, but if not, an hour of extension is possible (and if you provide accommodation, it might even be free!). But unfortunately, I cannot commit beyond 5 AM, because I still have an hour and a half of dismantling ahead of me. So, at the earliest, I leave the venue at half past 6 AM after a 5 AM closing – this is a real test of endurance! 💪

Pro tip: Coordinate with the photographer and videographer in advance! We’ll tell you when and where the show will be, so they can prepare for stunning shots. Slow-motion clips with fireworks are particularly impactful! 🎬

 

How much does an unforgettable wedding party cost? 💰 (2023-2024 prices)

Now, here’s the essence! 💸 As I’ve already mentioned, it’s hard to talk about “package deals” with a wedding DJ, as distance, services used, and the amount of equipment all influence the final price. However, I don’t like it when someone completely hides prices, so I’ll give you a little taste that you can use for planning. This is the “starting price” below which – excluding discounted periods – I certainly cannot undertake a wedding. 🤷‍♀️

It is important that these prices are not the result of guesswork! 🎯 There is a defined minimum quantity and quality of sound and lighting equipment below which I do not work. And imagine, I have heard from many couples that my basic price offer includes things that are offered as extra costs elsewhere (for example, the superb lighting technology – I bring at least twice as much of this as an average DJ! ✨). With me, there are no hidden costs, no extension fees, no travel expenses, no call-out fees! You pay what is in the contract. Period! ✅

The average price of a wedding DJ in 2023 starts from a minimum of 200,000 Ft, and believe me, you’re unlikely to find an experienced professional DJ working with quality equipment for less than that. Popular DJs can charge over half a million forints, but “average” quotes around 350,000 – 400,000 Ft are also common. 📊

Most of my quotes for peak season Saturday dates fall between HUF 270,000 and HUF 350,000. For Friday or Sunday parties, you can expect 10-30% lower prices, even from as low as HUF 240,000-250,000! If you also entrust me with the sound system for the civil ceremony, it will add approximately 25-30 thousand forints to the price. And most importantly: my quotes include all costs, without fine print or hidden surprises! 🥳

Beware of “too good to be true” offers! Many DJs try to lure you in with seemingly favorable prices of 170,000 Ft, only for it to turn out that it doesn’t include travel costs, the subwoofer (sub speaker!), proper lighting, and what’s more, the party only lasts until 2 AM, after which they charge exorbitant hourly rates (25-30 thousand Ft/hour!). Such an “cheap” offer can easily climb to 250-280 thousand forints in the end! Don’t fall for it! 💡

 

What detailed quote will you get from me? 📝

At our place, the quote is not just a “simple piece of paper”! 📜 After I get to know your wedding venue and your ideas, I will prepare a comprehensive offer that includes all emerging costs. No later modifications, no “oh, I forgot this” – just the final amount, which shows the actual price to be paid right from the beginning! 💯

I will precisely describe the requested services, their duration, and nature. I will also list the type and number of sound and lighting equipment in detail, so you know exactly what you are paying for. And of course, travel expenses are included from the very first moment, so there’s no need to add them later! Completely transparent, completely fair. ✅

Music request show? 🎶 How flexible am I?

Your days, your music! 💖 We will discuss your musical ideas at the very first meeting or when requesting a quote. I usually ask you for a “must-play” list of songs you absolutely want to hear. Don’t overdo it, a list of 30-40 songs is ideal! Think of upbeat 2000s hits like Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” or modern favorites like Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” or Ed Sheeran’s romantic songs. 🕺💃

And of course, the same goes for the “no-go” list! 🙅‍♀️ If there’s an artist or style (say, folk music, if you’re not a fan of the genre) that you absolutely don’t want, I need to know that too. I also handle guest requests flexibly on site: if the song fits the pre-agreed line, then it’s good to go! It’s very important to take the guests’ tastes into account, because that’s the key to an unforgettable party! Just imagine Grandma dancing to Madonna’s “Hung Up”! 🥳

Cup raising? 🥂 (Wedding party only!) and the look 🤵

This is an evergreen topic among wedding service providers, but there’s no question for me: consuming alcohol while working? Absolutely out of the question! 🚫 Many people think you need a few drinks for a “good party,” but I believe: if someone can’t create an amazing atmosphere without alcohol, they should just quit! Imagine the finance guy presenting drunk at a corporate event… you can’t, right? Well, neither can I! 😉

Appearance is also key! 👔 Many say that comfort is important, and I would also prefer to pack in shorts and a T-shirt, but this is a wedding! With us, the dress code is always appropriate for the occasion: jacket, suit, and elegant shoes. Respect alone demands it on the Big Day! So, I always spin the records in a professional “outfit”. 👌

Does the DJ want to eat? 🍔 Yes, and I’ll tell you why!

This is closely related to the previous question. Yes, I also usually ask for meals and non-alcoholic drinks for the entire duration of the event. Why? Because a wedding DJ actively works throughout the entire wedding, from the guest reception until dawn! This means many, many hours of concentration, energy, and excitement. For the dance floor to be constantly rocking, I need to refuel too! ⚡

It’s important that the “vendor menu” is not equal to the “humiliating menu”! 🚫 It’s best if you ask for the same meal for the vendors as for your guests, naturally combined with an alcohol-free drink package. Most venues already offer a discount for vendor catering, so this won’t break the bank! This way, everyone – the photographer, videographer, master of ceremonies, and of course, me too – can operate with maximum energy on your day and feel that their work is important! 🫶

Music stops? 🎶 Only when the cake comes!

With us, the music service is continuously booming right from the guest reception! 🎧 If you entrust me with the sound system for the civil ceremony, I will accompany those moments with music of the appropriate mood there too. During congratulations, bouquet toss, and photo opportunities, discreet background music plays so that the atmosphere is not “dead”! 😉

After the photoshoot, and before heading to dinner, I request approximately 20-30 minutes to dismantle the equipment used for the ceremony. During dinner, quiet background music will be played, and if microphones are needed for speeches, I will provide those as well. This dinner period can be considered the vendors’ “rest time,” when we also refuel for the big night. 🍽️

Following the opening dance, I only stop the music if the wedding program requires it (e.g., cake cutting, bridal dance, games, or midnight dinner). After midnight, the party can go on without a break until dawn! 🎉 So get ready, because the dance floor is guaranteed to stay hot! 🔥

 

How many times should we talk? 📞 (Before the party starts!)

If you find me likable and entrust me with the musical part of your wedding, then the contract signing and down payment will be done conveniently online. Perhaps the only positive outcome of the pandemic was that everyone became more confident in online meetings and video calls! 💻 This is great because we can chat online several times if you get stuck in the organization or just need a little experienced DJ help! 😉

Of course, I like to meet you in person at least once before the wedding, but due to distance, this is not always feasible. What is essential, however, is: always send important wedding-related information (timeline, music lists, civil ceremony details) by email as well! This way, we won’t forget anything, and everything will be in place on your Big Day! 📧

How long have I been mixing happiness? 🎧 (And how many parties have I played?)

Did you know that I’ve been creating unforgettable wedding parties since 2009? 🎉 Right after the first year, I felt this was my path! I love the world of weddings, the versatility, the creativity, and the fact that I can consider myself a truly “people-oriented” DJ. That’s why from 2010 onwards, I increasingly focused on wedding and event DJing, so I’m not operating with the slogan “20 years of experience after a few weddings,” but with real wedding routine! 💪

We don’t have a “random DJ” or a “colleague who is free at the moment” to take control of one of your most important days. ❌

Rarely do I bring a technician with me if a truly complex task needs to be solved, but I run the show! So you can be sure that the atmosphere is guaranteed by the DJ you consulted with and trust! 🥰

Video, mix, watch live? 🤫 The answer is complicated, yet simple! NO!

I know many of you would like to see how I work live or hear a “mix”, but unfortunately my answer to both is: NO. And there are very good reasons for that! 🤔

  • Videos: A wedding is an intimate, family celebration, in a closed circle. Guests party, let loose, and not everyone would be happy if video footage of them ended up on the internet. Due to the intimate atmosphere, it would also be unethical to make long recordings. 🤫 I wouldn’t video the wedding guests at your wedding either, because your private moments are the most important!
  • Mixes: A pre-made “mix” never reflects the dynamic of a live wedding party. The atmosphere comes from the energy born of the moment, the reactions of the guests, and improvisation. A mix doesn’t show how I can react to the dance floor, music requests, or unexpected situations. The live experience is so much more! ✨
  • Live viewing: For the same reasons, you cannot see me live at another wedding. It’s an intimate family celebration, not an “open day” for the DJ. I respect the privacy of couples and guests. Instead, feel free to meet, chat, and check out my many photos and read the feedback! 😊
